TMJ Massage
Brooke has certification in TMJ dysfunction and is experienced in intra-oral techniques used to treat masticatory muscle and jaw pain.
Temporomandibular joint disorders, TMJD, usually result from inflamed chewing muscles around the jaw and is often a chronic issue that causes constant pain. The cause for this condition may be linked to stress fractures, an imperfect bite, tooth grinding or tooth clenching related to stress.
TMJ massage is an effective, non-medicinal way to deal with TMJ pain. Massage can relieve muscle tension in the jaw and alleviate pain and headaches.
Swedish Massage
As the best-known type of bodywork performed today, one of the primary goals of the Swedish massage technique is to relax the entire body.
But Swedish massage therapy goes beyond relaxation. It is exceptionally beneficial for increasing the level of oxygen in the blood, decreasing muscle toxins, improving circulation and flexibility while easing tension.
Swedish massage can also alleviate depression and anxiety by increasing serotonin and dopamine levels, and decreasing stress hormone levels.
Prenatal Massage
Prenatal massage alleviates many of the physical discomforts associated with pregnancy.
Carrying a baby during pregnancy puts stress on your back, neck, abdominal muscles, and shoulders. The goals of prenatal massage are similar to regular massage – it aims to relax tense muscles, ease sore spots, improve circulation and mobility, and enhance your overall well-being. But prenatal massage is also customized to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies, and therapists trained in prenatal massage adjust their techniques accordingly.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage usually focuses on a specific problem, such as chronic muscle pain or injury rehabilitation.
Deep tissue massage involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). It's used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.
